This entire conversation lasted less than 2 minutes, and landed this friendly stranger on my block list in record time. I know, maybe I am just a bitchy, uppity camgirl, but it really horks me off when someone starts a conversation with a ‘buzz’, expresses frustration that I am unable to answer their IM within 15 seconds of them sending it, and won’t even give me a proper introduction or ask for a better time/method to contact me instead of barrelling forward on with the chat after I indicated I didn’t have time for it. This happens to me several times each day, so I am getting a little trigger happy with the block button.

Please please please if you are going to IM me, have something to say, and if I tell you I am working, please understand that I am working, and cool it or just send me an email so I can look at it when I have time. *sigh* Instant messengers just feel so intrusive sometimes.

I just really, truly, do not have the patience to hold on any conversations with people who don’t understand the meaning of multi-tasking.

Camgirl Shaving Woes

Truly, the most irritating part for me about being in the adult industry is the close attention I now feel I must pay to my shaving habits. I’m a pretty low maintenance gal and not especially hairy, so before doing adult modelling and webcamming, I pretty much kept my pubic grooming rituals to a minimum - a little whisk of the razor here and there so nothing poked out of my bikini, and I was done.

Another camgirl, Paige has written quite a bit about the changes in her shaving routines since starting work as a camgirl on her blog. Paige chose to shave off all her pubic hair for her customers enjoyment. I can’t disagree with her that I love the look and feel of shaved pussy lips, but I do like a little decoration on top.
I know a lot of guys prefer a bald pussy, but for me, I have tried it and I just don’t think it’s the look for me. I am rocking a little landing strip/patch thing right now, though I wish mine would grow in a perfect smallish pubic triangle. I just can never seem to get a nice feminine triangle shape thing going on. Any shaping ideas for me?

I can’t really talk about shaving also without mentioning the new razor I bought last week, the Venus Breeze. It’s got shaving gel built right into the blades and I was able to whip out the smoothest shave I’ve gotten in a long time with this - perfect for a low maintenance camgirl like me.

Trixie on Camming as a Career

I just have to point out this excellent blog post by one of my personal favorite amateurs on the web, Tasty Trixie, about camming as a career. Sadly, Trixie doesn’t do much private camming these days, but her indie porn site rocks, and she’s got quite a bit of experience webcamming and some excellent insights into sexwork in general.

Anyway, here is a link to her excellent post reflecting on camming as a career, and the condescending attitudes that many adult webmasters have toward the idea. Pretty hypocritical and stupid for others in the adult industry to insult a camgirl for her job, but I have met quite a few webmasters out there who gleefully cast themselves as “cyber-pimps” and the performers as the hoes.

Honestly there are good ways and bad ways to have webcamming be your career, but the closed minded and condescending attitude a lot of adult webmasters take towards ‘camhoes’ really irks me. We are all in the same industry, and if the webmasters that are promoting cam sites have such an unrealistic and negative view of performers, why are they selling porn to begin with?
